Living in Babcock Ranch
Babcock Ranch is a new town built from the ground up north of Fort Myers. Developer Kitson & Partners opened it in 2018 on about 17,000 acres of the historic Babcock ranch. It was designed as one of the first solar-powered towns in the country, with an on-site Florida Power & Light solar energy center. The town is planned for about 20,000 homes.
About half of the town’s footprint is set aside for greenways, parks and lakes. Founders Square is the downtown hub, with restaurants, shops and community events. Lake Babcock offers kayak launches, and more than 50 miles of trails link neighborhoods, parks and amenity centers. The town also has its own K–8 public charter school and new shopping and health care options.
National builders including Pulte, Del Webb, Toll Brothers and Lennar offer homes across many neighborhoods, from first homes to 55+ living and luxury enclaves. Prices start in the upper $200s and reach about $4M. Buyers choose Babcock Ranch for new construction, a walkable town center and a strong sense of community.
